Towards operational carbon neutrality – Hybrid power plant launched in Iso Paja, managed by Trevian
Iso Paja, managed by Trevian Asset Management, has reached a significant milestone with the commissioning of a newly completed hybrid power plant on the office building located in Helsinki. This innovative energy solution significantly enhances the property’s energy efficiency and supports its goal of achieving operational carbon neutrality. In the first three months alone, emissions and district heating consumption have decreased substantially – carbon dioxide emissions have already been reduced by 101 tons.
The commissioning of the hybrid power plant is an important step toward a greener future and demonstrates Iso Paja’s commitment to today’s stringent environmental standards. In less than three months, the building’s district heating consumption has dropped by up to 60%, while carbon dioxide emissions have decreased by 101 tons – equivalent to approximately 725,400 kilometers driven in a standard petrol-powered car.
– Trevian’s expertise is highlighted in customized energy efficiency solutions that promote both sustainability and cost-effectiveness. Our goal is to minimize the property’s carbon footprint and provide our tenants with the most environmentally friendly workspace solutions possible, says Maria Pukki, Asset Manager at Trevian.
The hybrid power plant utilizes renewable energy sources such as heat pump technology and solar energy.
– It is great to see concrete improvements in energy efficiency. The Iso Paja project provides valuable insights that we can apply to our other properties. The savings in both energy consumption and euros have already been significant during the first three months, says Hannu Tamminen, Head of Technical Team at Trevian.
Iso Paja has also achieved the BREEAM Excellent certification. BREEAM is the world’s leading sustainability assessment method for buildings, and the Excellent level is one of its highest ratings. The certification proves that Iso Paja meets strict environmental standards and principles of sustainable development.
– The launch of the hybrid power plant and the BREEAM Excellent certification are the result of long-term development work and a strong commitment to environmentally friendly solutions. We are proud of this achievement and will continue our efforts to promote sustainability at Iso Paja, says a representative of the property owners.
