Agore shopping centres Revontuli, Lanterna, and Aapeli awarded with BREEAM certificate for environmental efficiency

The Finnish shopping centres managed by Trevian Asset Management and owned by Agore Properties – Revontuli in Rovaniemi, Lanterna in Helsinki, and Aapeli in Kuopio – have been awarded the prestigious BREEAM certificate at a ‘Very Good’ level. This certification demonstrates the shopping centres’ dedication to sustainable development and social responsibility.

BREEAM (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) is the world-leading assessment method for evaluating the environmental impact and sustainability of buildings and infrastructure. The ratings indicate how well buildings adhere to the principles of environmental friendliness and sustainable development. The certification adds transparency and strongly indicates the consideration of sustainability in the design and use of the building. BREEAM considers not only ecological but also social and financial responsibility.

Agore Properties has been actively working on sustainability in recent years, focusing, for example, on initiatives to reduce energy consumption. As a result of these efforts, the properties in the portfolio have already achieved carbon neutrality in energy use.

– Over the years, we have diligently worked to enhance sustainability measures and operational transparency in the properties we manage. The sustainability measures implemented and ongoing reporting improvements facilitate proactive administration and real estate management; BREEAM certificates are shaping the future direction of Agore Properties, said Hannu Tamminen, Trevian’s Head of Technical Team.

– The Agore shopping centres have achieved the ‘Very Good’ certification level, showcasing our dedication to meeting modern standards through continuous sustainable real estate management. However, at Agore, our objective goes beyond mere compliance; we strive to build a high-quality and sustainable future locally in each city where we operate. Agore Properties also aims to obtain similar certifications for our other shopping centres in various Finnish cities, as stated by Anni Tenhunen, Agore’s Portfolio Manager.

– We are proud of this achievement and want to express our gratitude to the tenants of our shopping centres, who are equally committed to our sustainability goals, added Tenhunen.
