Special investment fund Trevian Finland Properties I has in a transaction on 30 November 2018 acquired Sampokeskus, a shopping centre property in the immediate city centre of Rovaniemi from Citycon Finland Oy. Rovaniemi is the capital city and commercial centre of Lapland, and the northernmost city in Finland.

The four-storey building has ca. 14,400 m2 of leasable area and 67 tenants, including Bio Rex cinema, fashion retailer Moda, Fitness 24/7, Gina Tricot and Sampo pharmacy.

“The biggest strength of Sampokeskus is its very central location in the immediate city centre of Rovaniemi”, comments Trevian Funds AIFM’s portfolio manager Amalia Pöyry. “The property is surrounded by hotels and other services, and the continued growth of tourism in Lapland increases demand for services in the area. In addition, we see the recent city centre development plans by the City of Rovaniemi as a positive driver for Sampokeskus”, states fund manager Pöyry.

After the acquisition, there are 167,659 m2 of leasable area and 506 tenants in the fund’s portfolio. Trevian Finland Properties I invests in different types of commercial real estate offering good cash flow and development potential in Finnish growth centres. The fund is continuously looking for further investment opportunities matching its investment strategy.
